Dreams Riviera Cancun is an all-inclusive resort located in Riviera Maya, Mexico approximately 30 minutes from the Cancun Airport.

I had the pleasure of personally attending the wedding that was taking place at this resort with my family along with the clients that I booked to attend as well.

This trip was in September 2024 and took place just before Hurricane Helene was ramping up to cause weather related complications.

As you can see, the grounds of Dreams Riviera Cancun were amazing. The lobby of the resort was beautiful and overall everything was really easy to navigate. The waterpark was fun for the kiddos to enjoy and there was even a lovely spot to have a ceremony on-site.

Even the animal friends we encountered seemed to be enjoying the resort.

All of the rooms my group had were met with mostly positivity aside from my own family’s first room which I ultimately had to request to have changed.

My family booked a Preferred Club Tropical View Double, which in general would have been the best category aside from not being Ocean View; however, the location of our room was not ideal at all being on the 1st floor with no actual balcony and basically facing the employee entrance to the resort.

Feeling uncomfortable with the first room my family was given, I decided to request a new room elsewhere which the resort accommodated, but being that they gave us a new room on a higher floor and without a jacuzzi on the balcony, I had to sign off on a document that we were technically ‘downgrading’ our room category and I did it with NO hesitation especially after seeing that view from our new room.

Sometimes less is more! Luckily, the room issue was only for our personal room and we were able to get that mitigated.

For the wedding we were attending, the ceremony took place at Parroquia Catolica de San Jose in Puerto Morales.

The wedding couple rented a coach bus that took all of the guests on a mini adventure to get to the church which had a traditional Catholic ceremony and after allowed us to grab a quick ice cream from a local creamery before heading back to the resort for the reception.

Opting for an indoor reception after having a ‘White Party’ on the beach the night prior, the resort accommodated for a private event in the El Patio Mexican restaurant and resembled a traditional wedding reception with seated dinner & dancing on a lit dancefloor.

The photographer caught a great picture of me realizing that the bartender at the wedding reception was the same amazing resort employee that was taking care of us at the pool bar during the entirety of our trip – Gersom – HUGE shoutout to your amazing service!!

Our group really enjoyed some great weather during our trip and we took advantage of fun at the pool and the beach.

Our last dinner of the trip was at Himitsu, the hibachi restaurant, and was our absolute favorite. Being able to celebrate my belated birthday there was special. What a great way to end our trip!

Just like that, our trip came to an end, but not before one last visit to the beach to soak it all in.

Overall, everyone’s experience was very positive and we’d recommend this resort for others to visit.
