Acadia National Park Loop

One of the most scenic and easy-to-follow drives in the U.S. It’s centered around the famous Park Loop Road, a 27-mile route that hits most of the park’s iconic spots.

The best direction is to start near Bar Harbor and drive clockwise

  • Cadillac Mountain*: highest point on the U.S. east coast
  • Sand Beach: rare sandy beach surrounded by cliffs
  • Thunder Hole: best at mid-high tide
  • Otter Cliff: one of the highest sea cliffs on the Atlantic coast
