DP, Illinois to STL, Missouri

Decided to give the Nissan Ariya another shot at a shorter distance nonlocal road trip. Still do no recommend it!
Turned a seemingly 4 hour drive to about 6 hours.
Planned out a route that included a Charge Point stop at Miller Park in Bloomington, IL. Highly recommend this as an EV stop and a place to get out and stretch your legs at Friendship Bridge.

I thought that would get us all the way to Energizer Park stadium
-BUT-
It did NOT
-AND-
Gave me range anxiety when I finally got to an Electrify America in Colinsville, IL at just 5 % charge.
At last, we made it to the stadium for the Concacaf Gold Cup semi-finals for the USA -VS- Guatemala game.

It was an…
- Amazing Atmosphere
- Amazing Game
- Amazing Finish
- Amazing Experience
Diego Luna scored 2 goals to give the USA the edge and ultimately the WIN even after Guatemala’s goal to change the score to 2-1.
Roman really thought Luna would get a hat trick!

The drive home was no better as we had to stop twice again. Quick stop in Colinsville, IL again and then Springfield, IL… The Land of Lincoln

Barely got home with 9% charge left after that
We’ll stick local with the EV car for sure now.
Definitely a few things we’d do differently
-BUT-
Overall, it was such a memorable experience!
Go USA in the final match!

Loved using Wanderlog to help us plan the itinerary for this trip
